funny thing is i dont see anything wrong.. its running a bit high then right when it smooths out and idles down you reach over and rev it again? the newest video im guessing was the first start after its been sitting? mine does the same thing because it hasent been warmed up.

The early LS1 engines did the same thing. I had a co-worker with an 00Corvette and a friend who had an 01 Camaro. Both would rev up when they were started for the first time. My ma's CV used to do that until I cleaned the ISC with carb cleaner.

It wont fail inspection for running badly. With your car, every light could be lit on the dash, and it could stall a dozen times in the inspection station, but as long as the steering parts are OK, emissions are OK, no visible smoke, and the brakes work it will pass in the state of NJ. My car stalled 3 times, it idles up and down like crazy, and it still passed. Tune it up and don't worry about it so much.
Engine light on your car means no oil pressure, or overheating, or a bad temperature or oil pressure sender. Check the oil pressure with a mechanical gauge. If the gauge says OK, and its not hot, my vote is on a bad sender. Unplug the wire from either the temperature or oil sender to see which circuit the problem is in.86 Lincoln Town Car (Galactica).

you need to check your oil pressure.......the light you are describing only comes on when theres no oil pressure or it's overheated.

When I had it in school, it gave the ect out of range code. The only code on the damn thing. But I replaced that and the wires going to it give out 4.66 volts. That's within specs. So I don't know. It could be the computer, I don't know I'll let someone else f**k around with it. But thanks very much. It's good to have another person from Jersey. THANKSSSS!!!

The idiot light sender for temperature is different than the ECT. Also, the computer will show no codes for no oil pressure. It will happily run along with no codes and no oil.86 Lincoln Town Car (Galactica).

Oil pressure sender is next to and in front of the oil filter, little thing with a single wire. temperature sender is on the driver's front corner of the lower intake manifold, also single wire. The thing in the pan is the low oil level sender, and the ECT is in the heater pipe. Its a 2 wire sensor. The idiot light sender is on the opposite side and has no connection with the computer at all. Its a simple on/off switch that goes to 'on' at whatever temperature. Same with the oil pressure sender, on/off switch that goes to 'on' at like 4 psi or something.
If its got no oil pressure at all, even from a cold startup, you probably need a motor. I've seen Fords run with no oil pressure but they have oil flow, and usually will show a little bit on the gauge when revving the engine a bit. If thats what its doing, you're fine, just don't beat it. Check your oil level and make sure its full. Make sure the senders aren't bad first though. If you have a sender for a temperature gauge in place of the idiot light sender, the light will be on. Not sure what an oil pressure gauge sender in place of the idiot light sender does, probably the same thing.86 Lincoln Town Car (Galactica).
