On a stokc 302 car efi, the egr comes from both heads and runs up the intake to the EGR spacer, where the valve regulates the flow into the incoming fresh air.

It'd be interesting to see what could be done with an explorer upper and a truck lower or 351 GT40 lower....it'd be better than the lopo or HO upper..and you could integrate the external EGR

94-95 would force you into my situation. You can't setup the SN95 intakes to breath from the driver side. And you would have to setup everything for passenger side inlet.

You can introduce the egr gases with the use of a explorer 90* elbow for the later model 302s, then use that egr valve or the truck egr valve and run a line to the headers, have a bung welded in and your in business? I can't remember where the line connecting the heads in the back goes to but you could possibly tap into that as well as a source.
That's a neat idea - might be something for all of us to think about who want to run non-EGR intake manifolds of some sort. I'm just not sure what you mean by the 90-degree elbow; is it part of the Explorer air pump system?

Using the Mustang/Panther Thermactor plumbing for EGR probably isn't a great idea if you have a functioning smog pump - seems you'd tend to get slightly compressed fresh air into the EGR rather than recirculated exhaust gasses.

The 90* elbow is the "egr spacer" for the explorer. the TB faces towards the front of the car, not to the fender on the explorer.

Problem with the EFI 351 GT40 lower is that usually just that lower sells for what a complete Professional Products upper/lower sells for. I've watched a couple on ebay. They are not a cheap intake solution.

You should be able to find a marine 351W GT40 lower for less than $150. They show up on E-bay and the Mustang boards regularly. They are iron instead of aluminum. The 351W GT-40 FRPP lower may be discontinued.

I haven't been able to find one of these mythical 351W marine lower intakes... Any links or sources other than what you posted? Ebay didn't turn up anything under $300+/-

Ford marine motors aren't real common in the first place. I have seen exactly 1 EFI Ford, and it was a 302 with an HO style upper. Last 351 I saw in a boat was probably an early 80s Trojan. I've seen a few 460s in early 90s boats and thats really it.

My family had a boat with a 3.7L four in it, that thing was a beast. Cut a 460 in half and you can do some neat stuff.

That sounds kind of fun. Don't suppose that was marketed as a car motor?

No. They did the same thing with 454 engines too, 200 hp 4 cyl with a Quadrajet.

I have a '78 Glastron with a 302 in it, 888 Mercruiser. Ford marine engines, as Gadget stated, are not that common. GM's are a lot more poop-u-lair.
