    IAT Relocation

Lately I've been toying with the Idea of relocating my IAT Sensor to the knock out plug in the upper intake, kind of like the 94-95 5.0 HO's have.Seems like having the IAT sensor in the upper intake further away from the heat of the engine, and in the path of the collective airflow through the intake would produce a cleaner reading, and hopefully better throttle response/gas mileage.

I know I will have to plug the IAT bung left behind in the lower intake, and extend the wiring.

    Thought's ,Opinion's.

You could relocated it anywhere in the intake system, some choose to re-plumb it in to to intake tubing.

Moving the IAT to colder air will increase performance, but not mileage. The ECU was programed to receive readings from the stock location.

My 94-95 engine does not have an AIT on it stock. It normally uses the AIT sensor that is integrated into the MAF sensor. I put mine at the back to be clean. Though most the time it's disconnected anyways for the extra performance. Unplugged the computer defaults to cold air, giving a little extra fuel.

Eventually the ECM will learn that the signal isn't reliable and just ignore it. Mine is in the air intake pipe because my lower intake doesn't have a provision for it. But yeah, to maintain the factory correct tune, it needs to remain in the same location or it will run slightly on the rich side.
