Hey Mang's can any of you tell me what this little part is called?




Its the thing right next to the voltage regulator that looks like a little mini can, Not the vacume can... Right above it with the wire coming out :-P



And can you replace that?

its just a noise suppressor

well, if you didnt have that and/or the case of the regulator attached to the metal part of the fender there and ran the car, Im sure you did fry some things... thats the ground the regulator makes to discharge any excessive voltage it recieves. I learned that the hard way

Ahh, And is it fixable? Eh. wire sorta half ass in there... Barley holding on...

wire half assed in where?? in the connector for the reg. or in the cylinder itself???? Id park it until you find a replacement from the junkyard. I replaced the whole charge harness in the 85 after I did that. It didnt catch flames but it came damn close... a lot of the wires coming out of the connector for the regulator were bare too... lucky me found a nice one in a low mileage garage kept CFI merk in the junkyard...

ugha.. Somehow i figured ude say that :-D.. O well. I gotta have this thing top notch by the time im ready for my schooling so off to junk yards i go :-P
