OK I may be getting an 88 GM next week

What I need to know is thie. I plan on rebuilding the engine wiht a 347 stroker kit, and relacing or rebuilding the AOD.

I also plan on relpacing the cam and using the existing heads and intake. The 460 wont be ready for a WHILE, so I figure I'll do the 302/347 and enjoy it for a year or so until the 460 is ready.

This will not be a daily driver, so fuel economy is not a concern, exept for the trip to SF.

cant really help you out with the AOD, they tend to run about the same price.

as for the cam unless you upgrade you cant really run much more cam than stock. Cam choice will be limited by valve springs.

Why waste teh money on it till you have the 460? It will let you get the 460 done quicker while saving gas money. Then you can play. All Id do is dual exhaust cause you can use that later for the 460 and rip off emissions shit. Then she'll be more fun to drive, you wouldn't have wasted so much money, and it she'll be ready for the 460!

What he said. No point in doing work on the motor and using the stock shit heads. If you're looking for power and economy on a budget, just do the heads and an HO cam. Much less involved than a stroker kit, and probably will make more power than a cammed 347 with junk heads.
