    HO Cam Specs

It's probably been said a billion times before, but I haven't found it yet. What are all the specs of a stock Mustang camshaft? They list hundreds of cams on Summit, so I don't know which is which. Also, what type of camshaft is it, hydraulic roller, hydraulic flat, what?
Thanks for puttin up with my dumb newb questions.

HO camshaft: 0.444" lift, 266 degrees rotation. I think there were a few of them that were hydraulic flat, but the vast majority of 'em are hydro roller.

Sweet, thanks guys. Another question: if I was building up a carbed 302 like in the 85 and back Stang GT's, are those hydraulic falt tappet cams, or are they also roller cams?

I want to say Hydraulic Roller, but I'm not 100% sure.

1985 and older are flat tappet. 1986 cars got roller cams. Trucks got them sometime later, in the 90s I believe. Some 1985 blocks are roller blocks, but are not drilled for the lifter retainer spider. Some are not. You'd need to look under the intake. If there are two raised spots in the middle of the lifter galley with a machined flat surface, then you got a roller capable block. If no machined bumps, no roller for you.

The HO cam specs should also be taken with a grain of salt, as none of the cams are identical. The "listed" specs and what the specs REALLY are, are two completely different things. Jay Allen has cam doctored a few of them and the results are hilarious, I don't think he's found one that is even NEAR what it is supposed to be.
