Carb Question

[Mr. Land Yacht]

I don't think my choke is opening as much as it should...
I see this red thing on the side that limits the choke's opening...isn't it called a cam? not to be confused with camshaft.
but, it seems like the choke is only opening about 3/4 of what it can..this is right?
should I swap out this "cam" for a different colored one? help me out here.

hmm mine opens all the way,, is there an adjustment on that cam?

I dunno..it doesn't move...I wouldn't know how to adjust it...

I think its supposed to be like that. Its an electric choke, you really dont adjust how far it opens. As long as it opens up when you floor it thers no problem.

The only adjustment with the choke as far as I know is the clocking of the choke thermostat. When the car warms up it will open the choke all the way anyway.

the only reason I ask is 'cuz I saw someone else on here with the same carb.
they posted a pic of the choke open and it looked more open than mine goes...maybe I'll post a pic.
