need pictures of lower intake work...

the 1990 Cv i have is leaking oil bad from the back side onto the exhaust. the person i got it from said it was a rear main seal gone bad. since buying it, i have had an oil change done and from what i can see it looks like it is leaking from the lower intake. i have the FelPro gasket kit and have gone into these engines only as deep as changing the water pump and having the plenum removed. what will i need to disconnect the fuel lines so that i dont have to take the fuel rails off the intake? any help would be appreciated since this car is needing work since it was neglected.

yes you will need to disconnect the fuel rail from the lines also make sure you have all the tools you need. might as well change the pcv valve and screen one important thing is to be extra carefull not to brake the vaccum lines also make sure you know the intake tighting sequance here are the pics from when mike helped me change my intake gaskets

you'll need a fuel line disconnect tool. You can get cheap plastic ones in a set that will do the job.

There's a set of tools for the quick disconnect lines, it's teflon, made in the USA, and works like a charm on fuel, tranny, and A/C lines. Look for it in your local parts store, I repeat it's teflon and made in the USA, and not crappy plastic and made in China or wherever the fuck else in the far East.

My valve covers leak oil onto the exhaust manifolds on my '87. Gets kinda foggy when it gets warmed up.
