    Need 4bbl advice

I'm looking for something around 500-550 CFM, not interested in anything more than that, it's not really needed since a pretty much stock 302 only needs around 450-480 CFM minimum. I've looked on summit, for some reason they don't have aftermarket carbs listed for Fords, in fact all it shows in the filter options is Chevy and GMC. I'm also wanting to go with an Edelbrock. I'm going to be sticking it on top of a Summit stage 1 intake.

    Any suggestions?

    manual choke

    electric choke

I'll look tommorow at work and see what the edlebrock catalog says...

Officially none of the aftermarket 4V carbs are AOD compatible. That is why you will not find it by application. Just pick one of the universal carbs that you want and use the Lokar cable. I personally use a regular Holley carb with a Mustang cable and my tranny is fine...

Get an Autolite 4100. Super reliable, although I don't know if they'll work with the Lokar kit.

The 1.08 Venturi ones are 480cfm, the 1.12 are 600cfm. It says on the side of them if you look. There was also a bigger one that 600-cfm, but they're rarer than a Hi-Po one. The 1.08 will usually be off a small block, although some mid- to late-sixties non-performance orientined big blocks got them too. The 480cfm is the perfect size for a stock 302.

You can use any of those carbs, you just have to buy the $14 adapters that hook up to the factory linkage. Holley or edelbrock, both will work and 500cfm will be just fine, or a re-jetted 600.
