    Problem! Help!

A little while back, when I replaced my PCV screen and cleaned up my IAC, I broke the little plastic thing that fastens the kickdown cable with the throttle.
can I pick up a replacement at Advance or AutoZone or something? if so, what's that part called?
I fastened it together with twist ties(as a temporary fix) and they came loose(of course).

Isn't that the part that will fuck up your transmission in 3 miles if it's broken?

Go to Ford and get a brass replacement. I forget the part number, but thye should know what your are talking about when you ask for a TV bushing.

YES it will screw your tranny if you drive it without the bushing.

I can't get that part at advance/autozone/murrays/pep boys?
BTW, I keep hearing the term "TV cable", what does the TV stand for? Throttle Valve?

                thanks Nathan!
                ok...TV is Throttle Valve...
and the part is called a Throttle Valve Bushing...cool.
and the article shows the part number as F3SZ-7H303-B.
                thanks again!

I called a local Ford dealer and they want 8 bucks for it!
for a piece of brass and a pin...WTF! rip off!
well, I suppose $8 is better than $1200 for a new tranny.

8 bucks is a cheap preventative measure. Lots of toasted AODs from that plastic POS failing.

yea, 8 bucks isn't a whole lot of cash...but the part is only a piece of brass the size of a nickel and a small pin!
it's prolly about 75cents worth of hardware...

I wouldn't be complaining about paying 8 bucks to save my transmission.

Not knowing any better when I bought my 91, I fucked up that bushing when I had the upper off to do the valve cover gaskets and didnt replace it. I drove my car with a cotter pin holding the tv cable in the plate on the botton of the Throttle body from september 05-may 06, when I decided to replace it. Didnt blow up, didnt explode, didnt lose any gears suprisingly. Not advising this be done at all, just thought I'd share this info. go for the brass one, i asked for a new throttle valve grommet and they gave me a rubber one. I didnt know brass ones existed.
