    Cherry Bomb Glasspacks

Has anyone ever used these, or have heard anything good/bad about them? I saw these the other day and found them very fitting for my car and upcoming dual exhaust.

Second question...Does anyone know if they are legal in Maryland; because if I remember correctly...Not all states like glasspacks.

EDIT: another question...Catalytic converters...Who makes good high-flow ones?

I think just about everyone has had a cherrybomb on at least one car at one point and time. Theres a crown vic that comes to my shop with duals and cherrybombs, but I think it sounds like shit. Not good at all. As for cats, i'm planning on using 2.5" magnaflow high-flow cats when I do my exhaust. Havnt heard anything bad so far, and one of my co-workers has 3" magnaflow cats on his dakota R/T, and they work quite well. If you do alot of driving around large puddles of water, I would avoid glasspacks. When their hot, the cold water can shatter all the glass inside and they will sound awful.

Ooo...Never thought about the water and glasspack thing...That's so obvious...

Maryland is kinda rainy and gets nice big puddles on the road...

So...Maybe I'll go with some other Cherry Bomb muffler...Or return to the plan to use Flowmasters.

I have glasspacks. I'm sure they've gotten wet, and they sound fine. I think they've gotten a bit louder since I put them on, but that's just a bonus.

I think Flowtech glasspacks are cheaper than Cherry Bombs and sound about the same. A friend has a T-Bird with a 3.8 V6 and dual exhaust and he has flowtech glasspacks on it and they sound great, loud and deep. I love the sound of glasspacks, i'll get some for my next Vic and remove the cats.

I don't know how easy it would be to shatter the glass inside a glasspack under normal driving conditions, after an 8 hour drive I could put my hand on mine without it burning me. Gotta be hotter than that to have an effect.

It's hard to find REAL Cherry Bomb's anymore. Everyone calls any red glasspack a cherry bomb. Maremont still makes the real ones, I think.

Flowmaster's chambered design = never having to replace them. Love my magnaflow cats/ flowmaster 40 setup.

magnaflow lifetime warranty and stainless steel means no replacement for me evar. :P:

1 question tho, how do you shatter fiberglass packing????? Theres no real glass in there. Gettin them wet just shrinks it and makes it more compact which dampens its muffling abilty makeing it louder

Exactly! I was wondering how long it was gonna take to figure that out...

Different glasspacks make different sounds, IMO... I put glasspacks on my merk when I put exhaust on it, and I hated the way they sounded. Shoulda just kept the open h-pipe :smirk:

Not a fan of glasspacks myself, they usually have a blatty annoying sound, especially on a lopo motor. They sould like ass on SBC motors too.
