Originally posted by DuceAnAHalfi just put a set of Mid legnth heasers on my 85 with a 351. if you dont have acces to a welder dont even try it. i had to bring all the tubes closer to the block about 1". the number 8 tube wasdesigned to go over the steering shaft of a Mustang, however on ours it cannot go around the shaft so that tube needs an additional 3/8" taken off, after you do that you have 2 choices either 1. rebend a new tube for the #8 or #2. what i did cut a slot about 85% of the way through the outside of the upper bend to allow the tube to align with the flange. then all this has to be welded back up total time involved in cutting fitting and welding, id say about 5 hours.Builder/Owner of Badass Panther Wagons

When i get my 408 in the car and running with these shorties, im going to drive it over to my buddy prolsc. He's gonna weld me up a set of big tube full length headers out of a box of bends, and ill send em off to get copied in mandrel bend pipe and coated. They'll be for a 351w car, so itll give everyone incentive to upgrade

well, I'm not saying that I can/will spend another $1K, I'm kicking the idea of longer headers than the stock 'stang ones.
and if I was made of money, wouldn't I not waste my time/money asking about this, I would just have custom ones made...
but if I can buy a kit for 100 bucks and spend maybe a little more to make them fit, I say it's worth it.
