    Fuel System Question...

With my setup, I'm considering intalling 24lb injectors(along with MAF).
but, if I go from 19lb to 24lb injectors, should I also upgrade teh fuel pump to a higher "LPH"?
I thought about getting this Holley fuel pump,..

Is it a good idea or is it just a waste of money?

-oh, and I plan to put in an adjustable pressure regulator in either case.

Yes bigger pump. You might also consider bigger fuel rails and definately an adjustable pressure regulator.

Are you building a serious enough engine to need those injectors? 19 lb will do up to about 300 hp. The stock fuel rails should support up to that with little issue as well. If you do get close to pushing that power level, you will need more fuel pump tho. The stocker wont cut it.

Depends on your intake. The heads have the flow to need it. The intake will restrict the air flow. You spoke with Gerry about porting the intake. An intake as cast will flow more air with a heads that have better air flow. A Ported intake will flow close to the heads air flow and would require upgrades.

ok, so it's just as I suspected...more flow, more gas needed.
to achieve the HP that I'm expecting, 24lb injectors and that Holley fuel pump would be a really good idea. Ok, then!
          thanks, guys...I appreciate the information!

Don't forget to add in the 800 bucks or so for dyno tuning with all of the modifications.

Going price is about 100 a run. There was a company called Pro-M that designed MASS air systems. The owner was a Ford Engineer. He sold the company and the name was changed a bit Pro (something else now) I believe. They did offer a free dyno run with purchase. They are in Southfield maybe. I will check on it.

Really? Guess you have already called around for it then, HUH?

The chip is about 300 bucks, and about 2 hours of tuning which is around 300 bucks. Then add in the iffy factor. Could easily end up being more. I was quoted $650-$800 from 4-5 different local places, and from what I've read, it's about normal. Kinda why my car hasn't been tuned yet.

PRO-M has a Mass air meter that is adjustable for different size injectors. Looked into it for my turbo motor. Economy went to shit the block and pistons sit here crank needs pollished ballanced and such. Might get back to it some day. They made the Mas air adapter kit for the fords. Same one tha is or was in the FMS cat. I aquired a kit with no instructions and put it on my Blue Merc soon togo on Creamy.

That would open another can of worms. Our systems have a 60 pin conector the VIII I believe are 96 newwer ones are 128 I believe. They have alot more inputs to control the brain than our old school engines and systems have. Stratigies are also a bit different.

oh, ok...IC...I could at least take off the injectors from a mark VIII though...provided they're in good shape...
