Spacer Between Upper and Lower Intake Needed For H.O Upper swap

I searched through all the old threads and couldnt find an answer, so is a spacer needed. I was gonna buy one off ebay for $29 with longer bolts and new gaskets, but the guy wont ship to Canada, no acceptions. Havnt priced one out if I actually go to a store and buy one, but I imagine it wont be that cheap. I know the longer Intake runners have an effect on the amount of torque the engine produces, but is it needed for any clearance issues? I'm not pulling off the lopo till I change it, and dont have another one to compare it to.

It will slightly hit the fuel rail without the spacer. You can grind a little bit out of the HO upper to clearance it. Just be careful to not get crazy with the grinder or you'll be buying a new intake.

        probably here: http://www.lincolnsonline.com/tech/00065.html

about 2/3 of the way down it has pics of the intake with paint marks. Best bet is to test fit it and verify the exact spot for yourself.

The one on the 89 Vic hit. Mine uses the spacer because of the taller valve covers. I guess the fuel rail and intake might vary just a little bit from year to year.

Ok, so i'm gonna skip on the spacer and see how it all works out, if theres any clearance issues, I'll just hold off installing it until I find one. Thanks guys.

True. If it aint huge, then out comes the grinder.
