Does any one know how to remove a 84 door panel?

I was trying to remove my sisters door panel on her '84 Crown Vic, but the stupid thing has this dumb knob for the quater vent window. I've got every thing else of the door but that damn knob. Does any one have any suggestions on how to remove it? And please don't answer BFH! I already tried that.:stfu1:

Do you mean the adjuster for the side mirror? If so there is a small set screw on the under side of the trim ring.

What where is it? I looked all over that stuipd thing. I turned all the way around and didn't see any sort of pin or set screw. Is it on the shaft or on the knob?

Round chrome silver knob like the one above? Carefully pry the center silver cover off. Then you'll see the Phillips screw that holds the chrome knob on. Take the screw out, pull the handle off, and you're set.

Ive never seen a window like that. I guess the window rolls down into the door , opposed to swinging out like the later ones?

Naw it still swings out like the other kind, it does it with a gear setup instead of you actually pushing it.

Early boxes had it, and I know some 70s Mopars had it. Pretty cool actually. I want a car with that setup so I can motorize the wingvent.

I thought I'd heard of power vent windows in TC's before.

They drop though. I want ones that swing inward like the ones on a Vic. It would also be a seperate control. Townie vents drop before the main window does. Makes those chrome vent shade things totally useless on the front windows.

The swinging vents work far better than the dropping vents do. I have the dropping vents on my Lincoln and they don't hardly do anything.

One of those swinging vents swung all the way around so it points backwards makes a nice ball cooler in the summer, though.
