    heatercore?

The windows fog up even on a 67 degree day on the inside of my car and I can constantly smell antifreeze even with all of the heater/ac controls off. I'm assuming the heatercore is bad but why is it causing condenstation on the windows? I had the heater core go bad in my old truck and it simply dumped coolant on the floor.

Because it's blowing coolant on the windshield. The drain drains the coolant out of the car.

Makes sense but does that mean the heatercore is in the middle of the dash? How bad is a heatercore replacement in these cars? I managed to replace the heatercore in my truck in 2 1/2 hours but I didn't have to remove much of the dash, mainly just underneath the passenger side.

The heatercore was bad in my old Vic also, but I never got around to replacing it. I only got a smell or antifreeze when I tried to turn the heat on, not when it was turned off.

It's 9 hours of labor or so if you take it to a shop.

I just bypassed it in my Vic. The Protegay is leaking too, 2 bottles of stop leak has fixed it for now. I just hope it lasts the winter.

I fixed it in my grammas 1989 grand marq But it was easy for me since I had the front of the car apart too replace the fenders and the doors. Its not too hard as long as you get baggies and label every nut and bolt that comes off the car and remember to place the parts in a safe place and take your time.

Heater core is accessed from the inside, removing the fenders and doors wont really make it any easier unless for some reason you had the dash out to replace the fender.

You don't have to completely remove the steering column. You can take the nuts off the hold it up, and set it down on the driver seat. That will give you enough room to lean the dash out enough to get to it,
