    New Gas tank wont fit!!!!!

well my brand new gas tank i baugt wont fit.. it looks simular but where the filler neck goes in is on a differnt angle and the side that gose aganst the trunk is concaved , anyway's i put it up in place and my filler neck wouldent go in properly and my straps where about an inch and a half to short I have been haveing nothing but trubble with the gas tanks in my car,, so i put some gas tank repair on my other tank and put it back in for now, and i realized my float in my sending unit had gas in it, so i changed it put everything together and now my fule guage dosent work at all, I wiggled the wires and still nothing so it looks like ill have to play the guessing game hopping i dont run out of gas since i now have no way a telling, unless i fix it tomorow when i play around with it.....

Sounds like a wagon tank . Is it like an L shape?

Sorry to hear it man. I feel your pains. I just put my car back together after new timing chain and gears, water pump, and all gaskets, and I get a hell of a grinding noise. I think I have it down to my water pump pully rubbing the crank pully. It was extremely close before....I still dunno. At least I have photographic evidence that I installed the timing chain correctly, so I don't have to freak out about that.

ya i braugt it back and the guy looked at the part number and checked in the book and he said that yes it is a wagon tank, so my new gas tank will be in on monday,
Now it gets worse,, my old gas tank that i put a gas tank repair kit on seems to started leaking in other places now,"Relly bad" it leaves BIG puddles of gas everywhere i park, so i think she might be laid up till monday night WHY ME!!!

                  +1

I guess this is just to make up for the job being so easy the first time, huh Dave? lol

Sorry you've had such trouble, but it sounds like you'll have it straightened out pretty quick. And if it's leaking gas that badly, don't drive it. Capridrifter would probably kill himself if he heard about a tudor that exploded.

Put a drip pan under the tank and save what leaks out. That shit's expensive.

I wouldn't use that gas. It'll pick up dirt and crap as it falls, and it will evaporate at an alarming rate anyways.
