Would it be a huge deal if...

I gapped my plugs at .050 when the sticker under the hood says .042-.046?

I gapped my plugs to .050 and it's fine. As long as your spark system is up to it, (I'm assuming yours is the Duraspark since you have the same car as I do, which in that case it certainly is) you'll have better spark with a bigger gap.

Should be within specs, but its not the end of the world. Might run a little better gapped correctly but you're not gonna blow anything up.

Gap em at .050 and install yourself a hotter coil,You will notice a nice increase in power and throttle responce in the upper rpms.

I was meaning to ask about the coil at some point. Things work pretty good gapped at .050 but I was planning on pulling the plugs just to check the new set anyway so Ill prolly end up regapping them. Thanks.

I knew a guy who's engine was decked and shaved so much that the pistons would smash the gap closed if he didnt intall them with the electrode up.

I have heard that some power increase can be made with indexing the spark plug with the electrode pointed up towards the valves....

                      A 89 and a 91 doesn't have a Duraspark ignition system. It would have a TFI distributor/module.

Both Nathan and 91 LTD have 351W, therefore the Duraspark I beleive.

They should be pointed towards the exhaust valve. tHERE IS A SPOT THAT WILL FORM ON THE PLUGS INSULATOR THAT DISSAPEARS AS THE PLUG IS AIMED IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION.
