    Screwed no matter what...

Went to summit and added up the required parts to do a carb conversion. 1001 bucks without any of the little pieces like hose/lines, gaskets, or new timing cover (might have that sitting around) It's gonna cost about the same to get the EFI tuned, with either a EEC tuner or just a superchip.

WTF??? It's not costing me that much to convert my 5.8L to a carb. And most of the 351W parts are more expensive then the 302 parts. I figure maybe $600-$650 if you go new parts. But there's no reason not to use a used intake. And for a 302 that's $100 or less.

1000 is easy...Could cheapen it up with a duraspark dist and box.

How come a tune is costing you $1000!? Dyno tune around here is in the neighborhood of 400-500 I think.

Gotta add the hardware also... ~300 bucks there. And the tune can always take longer, especially if you get a switch chip.

Even if it's 800 bucks, it's still the same as the carb conversion w/ duraspark...

Yea Duraspark would save you atleast $300-$400.

And don't forget the Carb calibration kit.

Think I still have a few edelbrock carb parts sitting around...Built and tuned 2 motors equipped with 'em. In fact I have like 85-90% of a 750 performer in the barn...Used to have a stealth too....That ended up in FL on some old wagon

If you're looking for a tune, I've heard the Anderson Motorsports PMS works pretty well. http://www.andersonfordmotorsport.com/

I know your into the old arcade games, so I figure you've worked on them - what about megasquirt? I want to see someone use it just b/c its interesting. You can cut the costs of the carb conversion by selling off the efi parts and using duraspark. Look for used stuff/ebay too.

Friend of mine has the MS....I've been thinking twEECer. Regardless, I'm out of cash and will not be able to do anything to the car for a couple months. Been getting a lot of calls from CC's about being over the limits. So, gonna move it and toss the cover on it until spring.

Did you say EFI 351? If your selling a set up for that then you may want to talk to nate cuz he was thinking about doing that on his vic.
