So my Colony Park came with a set of aftermarket air bags that went inside the rear springs. Whenever I had a large load I could air them up and keep it from saggin. My tailpipe fell off and burnt one of the bags. Anyone know where I can find a new set of these things. My local parts guy is out of ideas. I like the air bags instead of adjustable shocks because I can completely empty the bags and not upset the smooth ride from the stock setup.

Find a new parts guy.
AIR LIFT makes a universal set for coil springs that fit right in. I have been using them for years. Have them in both the racecar and the ddriver. Co$t is in the $75 range and has not changed in several years. The air line can be hooked to a tee to fill both at the same time, or can be setup individual.

Running them empty will destroy them quickly. They are designed to always have air in them. I think the min. is 10psi. That is what I run in the ddriver.Speed cost....how fast u wanna go??

I was debating replacing my rear coil spring / air shock arrangement with actual air springs from a later model Towncar with the associated compressor and wiring. I just haven't gotten around to doing it.86 Lincoln Town Car (Galactica).

Well, my parts guy is the local Autozone, there aren't any Napa's around here and the independent shops close at 4. So it's hard for me to get too. But, they say to keep pressure in the bags so they stay stiff and out of the way of the coil springs. The only thing you have to worry about is if the bags come off their seat but in my case when they were empty the bags didn't have enough room to move around. Also the rubber was such a thick and stiff construction that they couldn't get caught or pinched, they kept their shape. I think the company say's that to protect their ass and keep warrenty replacements down.
