I'm up in Rochester. and four tires in 215/65 are $408 (358 after rebate), and 215/70 is $376 (326 after rebate), both on tire rack. Is it worth the savings?

215/70/16 is pretty damned tall. Probably pushing it.

I'm not really worried about rear clearance as I am front clearance. Take a look at the pic of my car. It's roughly a 1 inch height increase over the rubber I have on there right now.

I'd go with the 65s. 70 is quite tall. And because snow tires are softer, any rubbing you have will be exacerbated and cause faster, uneven wear where they are rubbing.
          Phew.
Just having snow tires and a Trac-Loc make things much easier in the winter with these cars.
I'm right down the road in Buffalo, and I've driven through some henious shit with my snows and Trac-Loc.

True. I'm going to do some more research before I make a final decision

Btw thought that was funny, some heinous shit lol. I've got myself a posi, and about 4-6 60lb sand bags, and I'll have studded snows. Gonna rape this winter.

Drove a 85 TC and drive my current 03 MGM with 225/60/16 studs. Snow? Hah! I fart in its' general direction.

Does anyone have some pics of their gm with 215/65s? I want to see how they fill up the wheel wells.

Ok guys, I made my final decision, and went with 215/65s, for clearance insurance and better handling. Cost me $470 with shipping, although I will be receiving a $50 rebate, so that almost pays for the shipping. I also opted for the studding service. Here's what I bought: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....omCompare1=yes
