    Change Oil Soon

    Hey Guys
    I have a 2007 GM. How do I shut off the reminder to change oil soon. It only turns off for 1 cycle if pressing the reset on the dash.

    change your oil, if it still persist then you may have a shot sensor... i think but dont qoute me on it
    89 townie, mild exhuast up grades, soon to have loud ass stereo....

        Took the car for the first service today which entailed changing the engine oil. When I picked the car up the oil life on the DIC still read the same as when I brought the car in. I went back in and questioned the guy at the service desk and he simply sent someone out to hold the button down...


        It IS a timer, a very sophisticated one, but sounds like there's no actual sensor reading hydrocarbons, iron oxides, zdp, and all that good stuff... just studied algorithms. Means there's no sensor to replace-- somehow you're failing to properly and permanently reset its timer.
