If you can do a transmission swap, you can do this. It's NOT that big of a deal. I could walk you through it.
It's cheaper than the auto rebuild.2011 Mustang GT Premium, MT82, Kona/Saddle, HIDs, 3.73s, 19s, hood/side stripes, UPR 1.5" springs with adjustable panhard bar, and UMI solid LCAs and relocation brackets.

Can you run me a cliffs notes on it. Cause I would need the pedal setup and hydraulic setup for the clutch. Seems like a hell of alot of work. Then wouldn't I need a different tune cause I would shift and not the actual car? It just seems like it would be a hell of alot work then just swapping out a tranny. I would love to but she is my daily driver and the serious mods would come when she is the garage queen and I'm out of tech school.2000 Mustang GT "Blondie", 2000 CVPI "Sargent Crusty"

Then, again, we stabbed the T5 yesterday- had the transmission under the car and bolted up in five minutes. I say skip another 4R70W and get a Tremec 3550 out of a Mustang. It's not that hard of a swap at all.

The Tremec is a 5spd. Not a slushbox.
I intend to do a COMPLETE write-up on the T5 swap once all is said and done. From there, you can ask any questions you need and I'll help in ANY way possible. I will NEVER replace another AOD after realizing how easy all this has been.2011 Mustang GT Premium, MT82, Kona/Saddle, HIDs, 3.73s, 19s, hood/side stripes, UPR 1.5" springs with adjustable panhard bar, and UMI solid LCAs and relocation brackets.

5 speed as in auto or manual?.... there's a marauder running around with the complete 03-04 cobra engine and manual tranny. that would be a mod to tell your grandkids 4 real.

The Tremec 3550 is a 5spd manual. Sorry- it still hasn't set in my head that there are 5spd (and six, actually) autos.2011 Mustang GT Premium, MT82, Kona/Saddle, HIDs, 3.73s, 19s, hood/side stripes, UPR 1.5" springs with adjustable panhard bar, and UMI solid LCAs and relocation brackets.

hey I have done this twice on my 91 towncar, its hard but not impossible. You'll need 4 jackstands, I used a peice of 2X10 board i cut to "ballance" the tranny on a regular floorjack, and normal tools, the second time i did it i had air tools & it was alot easier. Also check around to see if you can rent a transmission jack. Also i took out the cats for clearance & you have to jack it up as far as you can and i didn't support the engine & had no problems. Let me know if you have more questions.
