i am going to be changing my tranny fluid soon. dropping the pan and draining the tc. how many quarts should i add before i drive it to operating temp then top it off.

aod's and 4r70w's hold approx 12 qts.........big john is correct, 10 qts draining the convertor sounds about right.....if you are just dropping the pan, start with 4 qts.....start the engine, run it thru the gears and check it with the engine idling in park......i just serviced a 2000 cv.....i think i added a little over 5 qts.
