My 2001 MGM has a squeek coming from the trasmission output shaft, and its housing, and I can't seem to pinpoint the source. It sounds like it is coming from right above the mount, or right where it connects to the main tranny housing. I thaught it was one of the u-joins but its not. There is also a tiny bit of play in the driveshaft right where is goes into the tranny, and vibration at speeds about 120km/h and over. Tiny but of wetness from tranny fluid in the area as well. The squeek happens about 3 times per tire rotation, and I can only hear it at speeds below 20km/h. Any advice apretiated.

Did you remove the driveshaft and run the U joint through its full range of motion to check for binding and roughness? Thats really the only thing in that place that can cause that noise and it goes along with a vibe too. I'd be real tempted to just change both U joints to rule it out. If its got over 100k miles on it (convert to metric at your own peril), then they are fair game.86 Lincoln Town Car (Galactica).
