    1997 mgm ls

I'm considering a 1997 MGM LS with dual exhaust. What's the chance it has rear air suspension? That would be too much maintenance risk for me. I can't tell from the undercarriage or engine pictures.

If it has the HPP package then it will have Air Susp. If you don't want to fix it just get 2 coils and 4 rubber isolators and remove the air springs. As to it being a maintenance risk? Its pretty easy to diag and replace the parts provided your willing to DIY and shop around or just swap it to coils.

Also if your risk averse to the Air Susp, what about the Intake manifold, EATC Blend Door Actuator, EATC control unit blowing it's internal A/C fuse relay or heater box plenum hinge snapping?

What Hudson said. I'd rather have that than coils. People tend to fear what they don't understand and thus make things out to be far worse than they actually are.

I would not let air springs sway me from buying a nice car that I otherwise liked. Especially if it's currently working.

Air suspension is nothing to fear.

The compressor can sometimes be an issue, but fixes are readily available. +1 on just swapping in coils if it's an issue. There are more issues with that year though, as mentioned. It will still be cheaper to fix all of those issues than buying a similar vehicle from most any other manufacturer since the more reliable ones bring the price premium up front, so there's that.

It's your money though, make the choice that's best for you and your comfort level.
