You want lameter air flow not swirls. Swirlies are for toilets. I dont port intakes and ports to get swirls its done to remove them. Swirls cause turblance easly noticed on a flow bench by the noise it makes. Some heads are so loud ya gota go for the ear muffs. Some Yates heads I once did you could bairly hear them flowing air at 360 some CFM.

Just thinking back to the "swirl-port" heads on Bill Elliot's T-Bird in the 80s....lol

Different situation there. Ports and valve location and angles produce swirl and tumble in the cylinder/combustion chamber. Piston confguration and chamber shape also come into play. For best power economy and emissions any particular engine requires a certian amount of tumble and swirl. This aggitates the fuel mixture making it as angry volitable as possible. When it is ignited by the spark plug a more complete faster burn is acheeved.

In case some of you havent noticed, on your 4.6 heads, there is a built in swirly in the combustion chamber, at the intake valve......so this has already been done, by Ford. No need to tornado anything, or vortex them.

Its more like its forgotten every 5 to 10 years. This is what I have seen working for many companies. I could go on about this and how it works and how it actually is and has destroyed american companies and our hold on manufacturing.

"History repeats itself" At least I always seen it that way. It's a matter of how long you can go before it repeats again is usualy the ultimate question.

Has anyone ever installed a Throttle body intake spacer on a 2004 Merc Grand marquis? Did it help any where?
