If I put the PI heads/intake on my non-PI block I'll gain about 30HP? I also read that this would raise the compression, is this true?
Just run a colder thermostat and go a range or 2 colder on spark plugs, depending how much timing you run and pinging you get.2000 Mercury Grand Marquis LS HPP.

UPDATE
Ah.. ok guys where to start... I changed the oil earlier today to find that it was almost black >
I dropped some castrol synthetic 5w-30 into it and wow... engine runs a fuck load smoother...
so anyways.. tommarow im gonna go buy some spark plugs and more than likely have the exaust manifold leak checked out.....
Are spark plugs ideal right now???
and if so.. what kind should I get and from where?

stock motorcrap will do fine. unless you are going to get a tune and add some timing. in which case you should go one range colder copper plugs. that is the motorcrap 22c.2000 Mercury Grand Marquis LS HPP.

no stock motorcraft (motorcrap) plugs are fine. i was saying stick with stock replacement plugs unless you change timing.2000 Mercury Grand Marquis LS HPP.

I doubt you will be timing your engine....do you have adjustable cam sprockets in that car?
FYI motor oil turns black in short order....the color doesn't necessarily mean it is past its prime. How much oil did you add? Which brand oil filter did you use?
If your exhaust leak is just an EGR tube or whatever then it'll be cheaper/easier than if it's leaking from the flange, or cracked somewhere. My car is a Shelby SVT Cobra GT Boss Grand Marquis Type R

if you are sticking with the stock computer tune, therefore stock timing, i would suggest sticking with a new set of stock plugs.
you don't have any pinging do you?2000 Mercury Grand Marquis LS HPP.

Around here I heared Fram is a good oil filter.
4 1/2 quarts OR SO?
Do you have ANY IDEA how much you added?
My aero holds 5QT., and I think yours may hold 6Qt. I know they upped the capacity...do you have the owner's manual? I believe you need to add oil, whether it's 1/2QT., or 1 1/2QT.
Which dealership told you to add only 4 1/2QT.? I would never take their advice again. The rule of thumb is to fill it until the dipstick reads "full", which is AT LEAST 5QT.! In the morning, after the car has not been run for a while...check the oil level, engine off, with the oil settled in the bottom of the pan. Top off as necessary to bring the oil level to the proper mark on the dipstick. If you do not know how to read the dipstick, find out how.
Using good oil, regular OCIs and Motorcraft filters you should be able to put on a couple thousand miles easily.
Fram may be good for the 302 guys but for the mod motors(4.6) I have had the best luck with MoCraft filters, FL820-S.My car is a Shelby SVT Cobra GT Boss Grand Marquis Type R
