    Resistance specs for coils packs anyone??

    Im going to troubleshoot my coils due to failure in starting could anyone post me the ohms for your coils? Thanks

    there has to be somebody here that has a service manual for a grand marquis...

      here's what my Chilton's says about testing...
      ignition OFF.
      disconnect battery cable (I personally don't do this one for coil tests... but then I don't have a newer car)
      disconnect wire harness from coil pack.
      check for dirt, corrosion, damage and repair if needed
      measure the primary resistance between coil pin 2 (B+) and pins 1 (coil2), 2 (coil 3), and 3 (coil 1). (this pin 2 nonsense confuses me... I'll try to find a diagram)
      should be 0.3-1.0 Ohms

      secondary:
      measure between coil wire terminals...
      coil 1: cylinder 1 and 6
      coil 2: cylinder 3 and 5
      coil 3: cylinder 4 and 7
      coil 4: cylinder 2 and 8

      should be 12.8-13.1 K ohms (don't overlook the K)

      edit: can't seem to find a diagram. bah.
