And when i am at a stop light and then press the gas my merc will shake a little as it picks up speed and the check light will then start to flash for a while and stay on. does anyone know what might be the problem i love my car me and her have been go hell and back. help me please!!!!!

probably needs a tune up. How old are the plugs, wires, and fuel filter?
the moisture in the exhaust is normal with a cold engine.86 Lincoln Town Car (Galactica).

a flashing CEL is a current misfire, yes this can damage the cat, but thats not what is causing it to flash
GrandMerc97 if I was a betting man, I would say your plug wires are the root cause; dirty injectors are also a possibilty, but the wires being old is alot more probable
