The only performance things I could see you being able to do is underdrives, dual exhaust, and a timing adjuster. You would still have a speed limiter, but it would give your engine a little more ass and you could get better mpg.

The dual exhaust is in the works. I was gonna buy wheels from a fellow GMNer this month but my wife needs me to wait as w have a home improvement need to care for. Maybe wheels next month - but I priced the dual exhaust today, and it's cheap enuogh it should be going on very soon, just gotta price the labor now.

all the above sounds good. take a look at the mods i have done to my P73 (base) 1993. if i had to start all over, i think i would swap the engine / tranny / harness / brain to something more current, built-up & then add bolt-ons. with 160K miles on my 1992-spec 4.6L, it's showing it's age a bit with oil leaks & parts wearing out...but for the most part these engines surpise the hell out of me as long as you keep the fluids fresh all the time.

One of the best mods I did was porting the throttle body elbow and adding a TRUCK 70mm throttle body.

Pop the hood and look at the elbow holding the throttle body. It has 2 quinched areas for the factory installing of bolts. Those quinched areas need to be welded/tig'd so you can do some major opening!
The intake tube from newer Mustangs or Thunderbirds is a great addition!
The other best mod I did was install FRPP shorties.
After the header install I could bounce the rev limiter easy. Not that I was trying to, it just happened!
            Do it with a 5spd!

              Thanks, Daniel.

The fastest I have a time slip for is 13.2, on the OEM street tires. With drag radials and the new intake I've installed, I've been told it should be good for high 12s. I've purposely kept the tune conservative as this is a daily driver.
