    Trip Minder Computer/Clock

Hello! I'm looking for a Trip Minder Computer/Clock - it was an option on the Grand Marquis, Cougars and others.

I would love one that is 87, 88, 89 years. But I will take what ever anyone is willing to sell

    Let me know.

These things are like finding "hen's teeth". Unless someone no longer has the car, I doubt many are willing to sell. I do know a guy, out West, that repairs them and may have some to sell but I'd have to dig that info out. If I find it, I'll post it.

      Thanks friskyfrankie!

I know!!! I've gone through about 5 junk yards up here in Michigan. Most had the analog clock - which surprised me.

His name is Chris Roth and he lives in Colorado. His email is <Removed to prevent bots from spamming the guy - PM this info please>. Not certain if he is still fixing them or has an inventory as I haven't dealt with him in a few years. If not, perhaps he can point you in the right direction. Hopefully, the email is still good!

My memory was off by one year in regard to what model year your car is.
For your 1988 I believe '87+'88 will direct swap, possibly even prior to '87 as well.
'89 had some 1 year only setup with an extra (ground?) wire making '89 not a direct swap into '88 and down, but not difficult. I haven't messed with tripminders much so I can't speak to this with any firsthand knowledge, just repeating what I've read in the past on these.

I believe the harness is somewhat different for the '88 and or '89. The '87 still uses two grounds and if you forget that it doesn't work.

I remember for the 89 I fount the harness already in the dash but iirc I had to free it at one point so it actually reached the tripminder. I am almost certain I have a minder getting dusty on a shelf for about 9 yrs. I know it basically worked but the buttons were sketchy even after a cleaning.
