Wheels and tires near Myrtle Beach

I am making practical plans to purchase a Country Squire from another forum member this summer, and it has very old, neglected tires on it. The factory wheels are on it - old-school steelies with hubcaps. The tire size is 215/70/r15 if I remember correctly.

I really dont want to go out and buy a brand new set of 15" tires for a few reasons, but expense being the number one. I usually buy used tires and they have worked great for me. But used 15's are getting harder to find, so I would like to step up to 16's when I get the car (or if it sells first, any Box I buy.)

If anyone within a reasonable distance of Myrtle Beach has a set of 16" wheels and tires they are interested in selling, whether steelies, alloy, or even aftermarket, hit me up. I am not prepared to act today - it will be towards the end of summer. But maybe you have a set tucked in your shed you dont need.

If not, I will hit the parts yards in a few months and see what I can find. Either way, thanks for reading!

i know i have four really nice turbines, not sure if i have any non dryrotted 15" tires.

i'll keep an eye out. but like you said, 15's are getting harder to find these days.

you have a discount tire store down there? should be able to get 4 new sneakers for under 300 bucks.

i plan on going to myrtle beach this summer, so i can loadem in the colony park if i find tires.

We dont have a Discount Tire store nearby that I am aware of. I could order a set online or even buy some $50 Walmart specials. The gentleman selling the car as the ability to mount and balance where he is. The problem with spending $300 on a set is it'll make me put off purchasing the car even longer, and I dont want to do that.

I wouldnt mind a set of old, ugly, crusty Turbines actually. I would clean them, paint them black, and put some nice caps on them (before you puke, I would NEVER paint a nice set unless I was restoring them.). But I dont want to ask you to bring them that far.

What I will ask you, though, is to contact me before you come down! I would love to meet up and grab a drink or something! I will PM you my phone number! I may never make it Scottfest, so at least I'd still get to meet ya!

Yup! That will probably be the route I go, unless I can pull off rim-and-tire combos from the U-pull yard up the road. Problem there, though, is they have usually yank the wheels off to build stands to hold the cars off the ground. I really want to upgrade to 16's when I get the car, but that might just have to wait. I am sort of a beggar, so I sort of shouldnt be too much a chooser.

              I resemble that statement.

I'm however working diligently to pay off the debts so I can be a chooser.

True. Don't want to be too modern in an old-school land yacht or it'll lose it's charm! I was thinking steelies and center caps, so old-school style but updated to a larger wheel and slightly more modern version of the old-school style. However, I guess I should really just worry about tires period, just to get it home, and then worry about the specifics later. That is more than likely all I will be able to do anyways in the beginning. Saving the money is already challenging! But I'm socking it away.
