    '84 Turn Signal Lens

One of the turn signal lenses on my Lincoln has always been loose, and after going through a car wash, it fell off and was (unfortunately) crushed.
The only one I can find is this. They want more than $200 for a repro! If anybody has a spare or something, please let me know.

yup... those are the scarce as hen's lips ones. They command a price.

Next time I see a car in the yard with these I'll try to remember to grab them. I know as of two weekends ago I did not see any in my local yards.

Back in December there was a TC with these clear turn signal lenses, someone asked me about them but when I went back I found the driver side he was looking for was busted. I should have grabbed the passenger side but I guess at the time I didn't realize how uncommon they were. That car is long gone, turnover at the yard I usually go to is roughly 6 months.

I think those are the best looking of box towncars. Truly a work of art!

Calling phayzer5, do you have any in your parts stash?

Sorry for the bump, but has anybody found one they're willing to sell?

Nothing has turned up at the yards Ash & I frequent, thanks to salt spray probably. We'll keep our eyes out for one though.

Since Derek and I both live around the same yards my searching has turned up the exact same results that he has found.
I keep a list of notes in my phone for parts that I need/want from the JY and I also put GMN members on the list with the part they are looking for. Until you get what you're looking for I'll keep you on my list.

I'll definitely keep an eye out too. 85-89 Towncars are scarce in yards around here, never seen an 80-84 here since ive been old enough to go into pick n' pulls

The yard near my house used to have two '84's and one '83. Unfortunately they only have one box now ('89) and most the parts are already picked off from it. I'll keep an eye out next time I'm there!

I have the same issue on my '84....picked up a lens a few years back on ebay for $15 and now the other one is broken. I use clear acetate sheets from Hobby Lobby to restore the 'glass' on my collection of vintage metal toys....Tonka, Nylint, etc....I'm going to try to form and bend a piece of acetate to form a lens...won't be anything perfect but an improvement on just a bare bulb sticking out.

If the lens is not in too bad shape, you can use that nasty clear packing tape. I have spare lenses for my '87 GM but when a hole mysteriously appeared on one, I used it and to this day it still is tight and looks like it's not there. Therefore, I never bothered to replace the lens!
