Looking to buy winter wheels & tires for my '88 Townie.

Does anyone have a neglected set of Lincoln Turbine or Lacy Spoke wheels? I'll take a set of decent black steelies too if anyone has got 'em. I'm in Warren, MI but wouldn't mind driving about 35 miles or so to pick up a set.

    Let me know your prices!

    Thanks!

    Anybody?
C'mon! Just looking for four wheels, would love to get my hands on Lacy Spoke or Turbines with center caps, hell no center caps even! Four steel wheels would do just fine too. I prefer no tires but if they've got tires they gotta have enough tread to get me through this winter.

*points at HiFiMerc* he knows a few good yards near him. He might know where to source a set of beater wheels for winters.

        Who? Me? Nah.

I have a full set of spare steelies. But they go nowhere unless the '92 goes bye-bye.

I see 15" steel wheels all the time in the yards. Gotta keep an eye out. Even if you can only find one good one. Go back a month or so later and there will probably be more. Beware, they'll probably also charge you for the tire that's on it. It is possible to get a tire off with a wire cutters, a flathead screwdriver, and a Swiss Army knife if you don't want to pay for the tire.

Wide ratio AOD, 2400 converter with a 3.08 one tire fire out back. Car is less slow now. Then there's the '92 Beater. Dual 2.25" exhaust with shiny tips. Rumbles nice. Super slow. Burns oil too.

The yard I usually go to pulls the wheels off the cars and has a good selection of cop cars and taxis, so they always have plenty of black steelies behind the counter at $20 each. Tires sold separately. Appleton's probably way out of your driving range, but maybe a yard in your area does something like that.

Not sure about anything behind the counter but I've been to every yard in the metro Detroit area and I can tell you that 80's panther pickin' is slim. Been nothing but a waste of gas & time the past four months. Only US Auto in Sterling Heights keeps inventory of their cars so that's the only place I don't have to visit in person to figure out whether or not there's something good. Not sure if the backspacing & all of that is the same for the later PI's and usually all the rubber on those rims is or near bald plus I don't want mixed tires which means I'd have to waste money unmounting tires and then purchase & mount new ones. Trying to save for a house so $400-500 bucks causes me to raise eyebrows. If house was purchased I'd have no problem with that but the sooner we move the happier we'll be ya know?

50 bucks for 4 15" steelies off a '94. Not sure if it will let you see it if you're not a member.
