Sorry to threadjack, but how much does a Lightning intake (both upper and lower) fetch these days? I passed one up several years ago because it looked jacked up. Probably should have plunked down the cash for it.

It's not uncommon to see them going for over $500 complete with fuel rails, throttle body and all...being as Ford stopped production about 6 or 7 years ago on the 351W lightning lower, you're kinda screwed into paying whatever people want to charge for new stuff....with my lower set-up and a stock HO upper/throttle body and a super mild cam, you can run on speed density with decent drivability...with a MAF conversion, runs like a top...will only rev happily to about 4200rpm though(if using a 70mm or larger MAF sensor), on my 351W that was previously in my t-bird, it had the aforementioned super mild cam and I ended up cutting open an HO upper, shortening the runners by about 3" and adding plenum volume at the same time and was still using a stock 60mm HO throttle body....in a 3800+ lb 5-speed car, it went 14.30's shifting around 4600 and running through the traps at 5000rpm in 4th gear(with 3.73's)....that setup would have been really good with 3.27-3.55's...with a bigger tb would have been faster.

Tongue biting sucks. I hate cutting my hair.

But I'm thinking I'll be doing it the rest of my life. So life sucks too :P

Well, if you want to be pedantic about it, this idiot who I did not know was the shop foreman was yelling at me. I'm not hard of hearing, so elevating your voice to the level as though we were trying to converse in a wind tunnel was unnecessary. I made it known I didn't appreciate his tone of voice. Him being less refined than myself took my objection not well and whined to the service manager. The service manager calls me into his office and tells me "it's not working out". He also informs me the idiot in question was the shop foreman.

I'm not the smartest man on the planet, but I am able to piece together things pretty easily for the most part.

And yes, I blame God/Jesus Christ for a great deal of my misfortunes in life because, well, when I gave my life to Him so many years ago now I was of the distinct impression that He was in control of whatever happens to me. "Plans to prosper you and not harm you" and all that.

                Yeah. So far, awesome.

But enough of me complaining about my life.

He is in control of whatever happens in your life. The good and what seems to be bad at the time. Everything happens for a reason. Your future, not of this world, is secure when you gave your life to him. "Plans to prosper"... just look around you and count your blessings every day. Give thanks and praise him ! "Not to harm you"... Is your soul free from satan's clutches ? Life can and will be much worse until we leave this world.

Ok enough of my preaching. Hope you have a better tomorrow.

I apologize to everyone who read my previous post. I was getting a little frustrated. I try not to vent about my life errors online too much.

I come to this forum for help and advice on preventing my 1986 Mercury Grand Marquis from not running anymore, not do that stuff. ._.

Hey man, we all go through tough times...some worse than others...for example, when we pray for patience, we're given opportunities to exercise patience...not circumstances that don't require it...when we need help in certain aspects of our lives, we're given opportunites to strengthen ourselves in those areas....in my life I've been given PLENTY of opportunities to develop determination and perseverance, but I still struggle with patience on a daily basis(hence my example)....keep your head up, look on the bright side and know that no matter how bad things get...somebody somewhere has it worse...yeah, it may be an automotive forum, but there are still people here who can give you encouragement in other aspects of life.

                        Good luck buddy!

Hi, I wanted to ask what exactly the "adapter" did. Silly question maybe but I am curious.
