WTB Cassette Radio for 1987 Crown Victoria

I'm looking for a cassette radio for my '87 Crown Vic. I had one from an '88 or '89 in it before but it crapped out. It didn't have the four holes in the face for the keys; this one screwed into the dash. If anybody has one they want to sell, let me know.

    Thanks.

Think I may have the original one from my 1987 Mercury Grand Marquis. It came as part of the Premium Sound System. What are you willing to spend? Bobby

Do you have any pics of the radio you could send me? Does everything on it work?

Worked last when used - no reason to think it wouldn't now.

does your dash have the 2 knob holes or just the full rectangle hole?

I also have an original one from my 85 I'm not sure if it had cassette though. I think it had a dial type tuner. But if other plans fall through I can check for you

It has the straight rectangular slot. Should be what you are looking for as it came from an '87 GM. Does your car have the Premium Sound System? I ask as this unit is made for service with an enternal amp located in the trunk. You could probably get it to work without the amp but the amp powers the front speakers (two dash and two doors). Let me know if you are interested and I can PM any other responses along with a price. Bobby

My car has the full rectangular hole for the radio. The radio I scavenged (and then broke) came out of an '88 or '89 LX, so I'm assuming it had premium sound. It had the power/volume switch in one button, cassette player in the middle right and the tune buttons below the cassette slot.

It might be like this radio (picture is of an '89 Country Squire on eBay).

Haven't looked at it in a few years but like I said it came as part of the Premium Sound System in my 1987 Mercury Grand Marquis.

I had one just like the one pictured... but the tape deck had a dead channel, so I chucked it in the round file.

Probably looks just like mine but will need to dig it out of the closet, if you are interested, PM me and if we agree on price I'll do so and take some photos so you can see what it looks like. Bobby

looks like he's looking for a non-premium head. I would think the premium head would need the amp in the trunk as well.
