You know what's funny? My '87 wagon was purchased in NW Indiana but came to me with a Florida title after allegedly being used for snowbirding by the owner of the dealership where I bought it in '97. BUT, it also came to me with a neat little row of developing rust holes above the p/s doors! Go figure.
No idea how much salt in that form will affect rust formation on a car, but it is something that I have heard.

As someone who did a stupid amount of digging around for my car, I gotta say that if you CAN travel, it's smarter to basically go as far south in the US as you can and drag it up. If you get something you can drive, you'll probably still save money compared to a comparable car up here, even with travel costs. My car is unusually clean for one of these in Ontario, and wouldn't even be worth "saving" in the deep south.

My car ahs been in North Georgia and East Tennessee its whole life and I have no rust except a tiny bit of surface rust under the battery tray. I strongly concur with buying a southern vehicle .. and there are at least 7 Panthers that I know about within 8 miles of my house for sale.sigpic

i did this with GMGT. was the only way of getting a solid shell. if you just looking for a shell, south is the way to go.

Another here. If it ran last summer it shouldn't be too much to get it going.
Heck I'd might go for it, but I don't have a trailer...
Nor do I really want to go 2+ hours to look at a non-running car.Last edited by TFatseas; 07-18-2011, 03:46 PM.
