occasionally box cop cars are in junkyards here... i would want me some buckets... BUT ... i only see them in grey... me havin red seats i would need to try stng seats... anything is possible for mods with time and experimentation ... i can keep an eye out for police buckets here...
me and 85CrownHPP have done Town Car seat conversions to work in our cars... since the Townies have door actuated controls for the seats as opposed to our seat controls mounted to side of seat... sure he has pics, and i know i do... personally, i like modding so that others can learn what else can work and with what mods

Grey? Interesting.
Post up if you find sliders and can verify the mounting dimensions!
Seat-to-slider bolt patterns from my other thread:
My '87 cop buckets (and SN95 buckets): 14" wide, 13" long
Split bench: 15.25" wide, 13" long
Slider-to-floor bolt pattern: 15" wide, 16" longLast edited by 1987cp; 03-22-2011, 10:21 PM.2012 Mazda5 Touring | Finally working on the LTD again!

The color of the seats is irrelevant to me, I can always have them re-done. As for sliders, I obviously would need them as well, so if you find a set of complete seats, I'm willing to have them shipped. My local yards are scarce on boxen panthers these days.sigpic

Not particularly exciting information, but I checked my full-bench sliders that came with the '81, and they appear to be identical to the p/s manual split-bench slider set that came with the white wagon. Thinking again on adding material to enable drilling new floor-mount holes 1/2"-3/4" outward, effectively making my own cop sliders for free. Looks like it *should* be fairly easy .... it'd be informative to check whether they're the same height as the cop sliders, though.2012 Mazda5 Touring | Finally working on the LTD again!

I'd rather modify the sliders / seats than my floor. Well I'm gonna go hit another JY or two tomorrow AM and see if I can find anything interesting. Gonna go more rural, there are a few near Kankakee and out in Indiana. The major junkyards here in the Chicago burbs are usually don't have much of a selection.sigpic

Absolutely! Sliders are lots easier to replace if you bugger them up.
I will ad that a quick check (nothing super-scientific) revealed that these sliders are maybe as much as two inches taller than the police versions. So to really create an imitation of those, it'll also be necessary to cut the standard sliders down in height, which looks a good deal more involved.2012 Mazda5 Touring | Finally working on the LTD again!
