omg thank god i am not painting my engine like this because this makes me want to throw up and give me a headache.

On the OHV engine, is there a gasket between the oil filter housing and the block? Seems I have a bit of a leak from that area...

low end torque is what you need to get these cars moving

well i was damn lucky today. My auto teacher was cleaning out his garage this week and gave me his grandfathers emblems from his 1979 Grand Marquis he had found laying around. So i got another steering wheel center cap this ones silver instead of gold like my other one. I found out in 1979 The Marquis had color matching steering wheel pads. whatever the cars color was the steering wheel center cap was the same. so this came off a silver Grand Marquis. I also got the legendary and oh so rare Glass Inserted Hood Ornament. I found out that that alon eis one of the rarest pieces on a 1979 Marquis or Grand Marquis. they are worth $100-200 dollars because of there rarity and only the brougham and grand marquis got them.

So far I am going to put the silver one on in fall and winter seasons and the gold one on in the spring and summer seasons.

                        Pics later
I would have to do some digging to find where i put them but i have a couple of 79 hood ornaments in a box somewhere.

FYI. All 1979 models came with the acrylic inserts in the hood ornaments, even the base models. All the 79 mercurys had silver centers in the steering wheel... as a note the early production 80 cars had the 79 steering wheel inserts and instrument clusters.

Beautiful car. My fav colour on them too.

oh i thought they were only on the higher trims. Anyway there still rare. Also about the centers of the steering wheel did they happen to make a special gold edition of it because i have a gold one from a 79 Marquis.

Also i don't need the hood ornament i have one. Thanks though.
