Most US I6 engines suffer badly from breathing problems. Those 1bbl carbs and lousy intake and exhaust manifolds don't flow air and the fuel distribution is really bad. EFI, 4bbl, or multiple 2bbl carbs and a header really wakes them up.

I'd love to get my hands on one of those Barra I6 engines from an Aussie Falcon. Those actually breathe. One of those in something like a Mercury Monarch would be a hoot.

I don't know that I'd ever modify a six beyond stock. Figure that money would be better spent on a V8. Depends on the price, I guess. Although I hate carburetors on everything short of yard equipment type stuff.

Had a GF that had a 75 Granada and I had a 77. Cool cars with virtual no negative issues (at least the ones we had). Both 302's.
