I have a thing against posers. Nothing like the real thing.

'80 Mark VI here in Finland. Historic/museum vehicle status, pretty clean. Engine bay has some interesting stuff, dual soup cans, no vacuum advance, odd starter relay and a different location for cruise servo. Could do some wiring cleanup, doesn't look all original. Would be a sharp cruiser.

Too bad the colour scheme is just hideous...

I feel like that particular setup is stuck somewhere between 3502 miles of vacuum hose and carburetors and EFI. I think that's a pretty accurate description of EEC III.

So is that a little "south" of $14K USD?

Seats need the "Jay Leno Leather treatment" (LOL) along with a somewhat busted up dash area.

I do not believe the dual soup can is original. Mark VI has a gigantic (like bigger than your head) vacuum reservoir tucked into the void behind the cornering lamp on the driver side, to assist keeping the headlamp doors closed (they are normally open without vacuum). I'm guessing that is damaged in some way and they've used the smaller additional reservoir to replace it. Or who knows, maybe supplement it because they found it helps or something.

No vacuum advance is because that is an EEC-III CFI setup. Duraspark ignition (so no module on the distributor) with computer controlled timing (so no vacuum advance).

The cruise servo is in a non-original location, but maybe that's normal for EEC-III. It isn't the normal location for a 1983 Town Car as a comparison, but the one of those I've been around was a factory carb car with no ECM/MCU/etc.

                      Neat car.

I like the pickup. Would like to see a smoother roof.

Another mint example of finnish box wagons:

'80 Colony Park, with goodies: 351, early grille, hood emblem and vented fenders, BOTH aero mirrors and even the lower air dam.
And the finnishness: probably roof paint, mismatched large tires, sidepipes (extra points for duals), clear inserts in rear lights, random screwheads, dents and rust.
                              10/10

I sound like a broken record but I just love those damn fenders with fake louvers. If I ever find a pair of those fenders I would swap them on in a heart beat. I’d also build up the courage to install the c pillar louvers as well! Till then I’ll just admire them in other cars.
