I think any proper body shop could remove the wood grain and the stainless steel trim work that surrounds it. I know there's some holes and whatnot behind the trim, but nothing some body filler and a good paint job couldn't fix. I'm not sure if you could order a Colony Park without wood grain. The earlier 'Marquis' wagons were often shown without the wood grain, but 'Colony Park' always had it, at least in the brochures. I think it ran along the same lines of the 'Country Squires' of later years having wood grain, but you could get a 'LTD Crown Victoria' wagon without it.

If you look closely in the pictures, the roof rack still has wood grain accenting on the side rails. I think this particular wagon had its wood grain removed and was repainted along the way.

That said, that wagon does look pretty decent without wood grain. Honestly, one of these days when I get my hands on a wagon, if two-toning doesn't work out well, I would opt to do what the person in the listing has done. I'd probably go for a different color, like a light metallic blue w/white pin striping, a dark metallic green w/gold pin striping, or black w/red pin striping.
