I've been looking for one of these for over a year!
1990 has its own instrument cluster.
And the wagons have their own fuel tank, with a different sending unit/pump setup.
So finding a sending unit for a 1990-1991 wagon, of which I'm not sure how many were really made, was very hard. The aftermarket does not bestows its chinese-made favors for this part. Sedans have more options I think I saw.
Ford has 0 in its inventory worldwide basically (even after a part is discontinued, some dealers may have a couple collecting dust in the corner).
I did a search again for the part, and someone has it!
The part number is foaz9275a, and if you call 972-937-2201, they just got 4 in stock a few days ago. They sold one to someone, 2 to me (I want to be sure I have a spare, I'm in this car for the long haul...), and have 1 left. Or you can buy my second from me.
They wanted $135+$15 shipping, I talked them down to $110.
But if you need one, your only other option is an ugly aftermarket sending unit and gas gauge... you kinda need one. Might be the last chance!
I'm not sure if i can repair mine on the bench; depends on how the variable resistor is built and if I can possibly make my own. That's what is bad in mine.
The float, if that's all it is, is much easier and cheaper to find however.
