    so...

    I have the new water pump on. Need to replace a few hoses (lower radiator and bypass). The rest are fine. One more day (kinda good there... give the sealer a good day to cure).

      personally I'd put the pcv back at the rear of the intake with the grommet and screen, and use the gutted pcv valve to connect to the throttle body for fresh air intake. Either way, you have to connect the open hole to the throttle body so the maf will register all air pulled through the engine.

        there's no hole in the rear intake (there may be a bolt there... can't really see it and I don't have a mirror handy - still need to get a mirror on a stick for my toolbox). The only PCV is that one into the oil filler cap. The MAF is on the filter box away from the throttle body. The PCV is connected to the throttle body though.

          Is there a breather in the passenger side valve cover?
          The PCV is not set up like it should be without a doubt... you need to see whats going on in the OEM PCV hole and put it back to normal if you can. You're getting un-metered air the way it is now, like gadget said.
          PCV flows in different directions in the carb/CFI setup vs SEFI, right now its somewhere in between and all wrong.

            pcv valve should not go to the throttle body, the fitting on the throttle body is for the fresh air supply to the valve cover. PCV ought to go to a fitting on the upper intake manifold somewhere so its under vacuum. Possible someone has the pcv set up correctly with the factory valve at the rear of the intake.

              I checked again... yeah... missed it. The PCV is in the rear. I moved the new PCV valve back there and put the open one (breather) back in the filler cap. time for bed then. too tired to see straight. I wish they had slapped the vacuum diagram for the engine to the car somewhere... oh well. I'll get it straight before I fire it up again.

                ok... running good... no more leaks... still have a gas smell (will investigate that more as I go)... it's tagged and inspected and I'll have Classic Auto plates for it in about 2 weeks... ish. Time to add to my RR thread.
