If you're going to buy a Diamond Jubilee, buy a Mark V. They're just far and away a more pimptastic vehicle.


The 351M and 400 are both based on a Cleveland engine, same head design and such. They'll make every bit the power the Cleveland makes, and the 400 is basically a stroker Cleveland so it can make even more. In stock form though, they pretty well suck. Low compression, lousy cams, bad emissions controls, and putting that de-tuned engine in an extremely heavy and hard worked vehicle caused them to fail horribly. You cannot replace a 460 with a 150 hp 400 and expect it to not suck.

75th anniversary is a diamond jubilee. 1978 was Ford's 75th year. The DJ's were just extra expensive commemorative models. The Mark V was like a 20k car, really f'n expensive in 1978. By comparison, the Tbird DJ was like 10 grand.

It's not mint green...it's actually a light baby blue color. They only came in that color, a maroon, and a few polar white models are reported to have been built. I had a 1979 "Heritage", which was a Diamond Jubilee carryover since it was then Ford's 76th anniversary. By far one of the best cars I've ever owned. Mine had a 302/FMX, with a moonroof and a factory CB radio w/ 8-track. They don't hold their value very well, but they are still fun to drive, and easy to work on. Mustang shortys and true duals woke it up a bit.

I don't know what I could get realistically for the p72 (no OD and mild piston slap)... cant sell the others... the 91 is life support for a good motor/trans for the 85 if something goes kerplunk.
Plus being able to pay rent and eat the rest of this month is going to be tight, lol.
