I dealt with both Baker's and Lincoln Land when I owned my 1967 Continental convertible. Some things were only available from them like power steering fluid hoses and convertible top parts. Baker's also does a good job of reproducing some of the most needed parts that just don't exist anymore (rocker moldings, wood trim sets for the '61-'63 Lincolns, plastic armrest bases for the '66-'69 Lincolns). Prices are high, but I wouldn't call them rip off artists. The owner of Lincoln Land actually came to my house (in Illinois) and fixed my back window relay. He's from Florida and was in Chicago for a car show. I don't know where else you would find service like that?

Dealing with Baker's for a '60s Conti-vertible is a whole different matter. For that, they are actually doing the world a favor, because, yes, their service is excellent (as has been Lincoln Land and Lincoln Parts Int'l), and there is no other game in town at this point, but the '80s boxes have so many interchangeable parts, and when I can go to a half-decent junqueyard and find most of the same parts in serviceable condition for next to nothing, it is rather insulting. They are old, but they are not antiques yet.
Examples for my Mark VI: now have 3 spare parking lenses that polished out beautifully from the yard, only $5-10 a piece--the aforementioned guys all want $125-200 for these not even NOS (???); 2 headlight switches w/autolamp $20 and $25, while they go for $165+ from these guys. I recently needed a right rear rocker trim piece and wheel well moulding--$5 and $10 respectively from the yard, $95 and $250 co-respectively from these guys in good used condition (aka, a ding to pop out and needs polishing). Please, the right rear rocker stainless is the same on Mark VI's and '80s Town Car--there must be 100,000 of these still out there on parts cars and in yards and they wanted $100 bucks "good used" for it??

According to the ad it is for both. Same engine basically and the police cars received identical gauge packs as far as I can tell.~David~

gauges are gauges, doesn't much surprise me they used the same ones in both full size and baby LTDs. Would be nice to know what exactly that is so more people could get the proper part. I believe the police gauges are VDO, or at least the set I've had my hands on were. Its likely a standarized sender that could be gotten if you know the proper application or part number.86 Lincoln Town Car (Galactica).
