If you have a couple of broken ones you can probably make a good one. There is a thing inside that looks basically like a hockey stick and usually only one breaks. Take two broken latches, combine the good parts into one, done.86 Lincoln Town Car (Galactica).

OEM 1970-80s Ford Mercury? 14" Wire Spoke Hubcaps Wheel Covers (Set of 4 Vintage) Chrome on front may have marks on them for being in the box for 30-40 years and probably can be buffed out?Not sure which Ford car these fit as they may fit multiple kinds of Fords. See estimated measurements in last two pictures.Verify they are good for your car before purchasing them as it’s your choice if they would fit. Each hub cap was In storage in separate unopened Ford boxes and they were never used.Took out of boxes for shipping and the boxes weren’t in great shape (40 years old +)Please see pictures for more details.~David~

My thoughts were the same. I just sent a set of wheel covers from VA to CA via USPS and it was $26. UPS was $30. That listing is quoting me $73 to go from NJ to VA.
eBay had, maybe still has, a setting where the buyer is charged retail for shipping and the seller is given a discount. Wonder if that's the problem.1990 Country Squire - under restoration

Another possibility is the seller does not bother or refuse to compare the shipping which is right on the Ebay seller page.. I can compare and get the least expensive option. If the actual cost is less than what is quoted, I refund the customer anything over $2. I avoid the Post office as much as possible.

A consideration:
I am not aware of the finer intricacies of eBay policies, but suppose a seller has to drive...I dunno, 50 miles to access a shipping drop-off point. Perhaps the seller is rolling in a cost associated with a 100 mile drive on top of the actual shipping cost. And/or perhaps they are rolling in the cost of new bubble wrap and a box on top of the actual shipping charge.
When considering a purchase, I look at the total 'landed' cost to my door. If the item is priced attractively and the shipping charge is some number that I can reasonably see representing some sort of actual literal cost to the seller, I'm not going to fuss over what the actual price is on the USPS (or whatever) website. After all, costs directly related to getting the item from A to B are costs related to shipping, and I don't see that as a misrepresentation.
Consider when I've sold things on here, I typically give some options:
I can ship from Canada, at a higher cost, or I can take the item across the border into the US and ship it from there for less (in literal postage cost).
But, I pay tolls to cross the border in each direction.
If I can ship the item at my convenience on a future trip I was already making for my own reasons, I might offer to not upcharge for the tolls in one or both directions.
If I make a special trip and can derive no benefit of my own from the tolls, I upcharge for it.
