The cool and interesting things I find on it....some are just because its is a police model of course:
the forward most map light, ground straps on the hood hinges, smooth header panel (no hood ornament), slick top, aluminum front bumper, newer horn pad yet horn on stalk still in 83 right?, the trunk pop to the left of steering wheel, radiator hold downs, switch to something mounted in the clock delete plate, a pillar spot light, interval wipers (would have thought it would have just low and high)...What do you find?

Not only are they not a myth, they're pretty common, at least as my memory sees it.

+1 that the rear sway bar would have been something to take. If it has one, it's likely the big one.

Need to get the oil and trans coolers with brackets. Get the oil cooler lines (very expensive to replace)with the special mount to the engine (extremely hard to find). . , Three core radiator and upper and lower mounting brackets with pads. Front sway bar bushings and hold downs with bolts. Police springs. Upper A arms even if worn. Repair to fix them is just an O ring. Get the spot light MOUNT screwed on the A pillar. Dash panels if they have the black camera case finish I would get the trunk release push button and wiring. The fan blade. It may have one more blade on the police version. For some reason the fan shroud comes to mind being different because of the thicker radiator. Power steering pump pulley if I remember right is slightly larger. Brake dust shields are metal instead of plastic Drums would be larger. Rims if 15x7 are getting hard to find. Windshield if perfect and tinted is a plus.

The AC bracket is the more valuable part. The alternator bracket just lets you fit the old 100 amp 1g which isn't anything to write home over. The AC brackets are specific to the 351 cars.

              +1 on the sway bars.

Ahh. I seem to mix those two up. Hopefully now it sticks.

I did a quick peak under the car just before I left. No front bar. It did have some kinda rear bar. It looked jacked/beat up bent from the quick glance I did at it from the front of the car. This car was very rusty, the engine was very rusty the body was very rusty. This thing seem some stuff and was likely sitting in some humid conditions for a very long time. If anybody is looking to get anything from it make sure to bring some good tools.

Yeah. Take another gander at the couple interior pics I posted. Everything is SO crusty...Ive never seen the interior of the roof rusted like that before.

See the hole under the drivers feet? One of a couple access points for those critters to get into that seat and use it as a toilet!

Another interesting thing was that it had a 79-82 LTD script taillight as a replacement for the broken one on the passengers side. It had another dash trim piece below the seat as well. Someone at one point in time likely had good intentions.

I was going to make a comment about that, as if the car had been left under water or in some humidity chamber.

That reminds me of a story from my dad. In the day, he had a 1969 black suicide door Continental. He found out there was a hole in the floor board due to rust. Although he was initially dismayed by the hole, he used it to dispose of drugs on the fly when necessary...

When I got the trunk to my '69 Plymouth open, it was a similar story. I remember seeing the car for the first time and being dismayed that the taillights were busted out along with one of the parking lights. Well, much to my pleasant surprise, replacement taillights, trim and that parking light were in the trunk! ..Along with a brown bag which had a spare carburetor along with a porno mag from 1981...

sometimes they're just junk. I had a set of those 351 AC brackets for a "someone is going to need these" moment. They ended up on John's car.

nospartsltd has been marking down a lot of stuff lately - but strangely also jacking the price on other things. I recently browsed their entire inventory and added a handful of Panther items to my watch list, later bought a few and received them without incident.

I like to put items in my watch list and think on them for a little while, or even just as a reminder for future me that I might want the item. The automated seller offer mechanism (e.g. you place item in watch list, then a couple days later receive a reverse-best-offer to buy it for a discount) is my best friend as a result.

I did that with an ATC sensor. NOS 1979 part, which looks like the 80-84ish part but with an extra elbow that I think will pop off. Gonna see if it will sub for the later part, but it was 30 bucks shipped so I couldn't pass it up. Ought to be here in a couple days.

my watch list has all sorts of junk though, some stuff I kinda-sorta want, and other things I'm just watching to see what sort of dumb money it will go for.
