I like what they've done there. I think I could live without the tires, but everything else I'm good with. Wonder why a 289? I would have gone for the 351 if I were doing a carb'd engine swap.

Good grief, are people actually paying those prices? My '89 CV was appraised at $7K after I painted it (which I think is a BS amount). Maybe I should list it for $10K.

says 302 on the air cleaner. I doubt its really a 289, but honestly without checking the casting number on the block its pretty hard to tell. Considering you're looking at about a 5 year window of engines vs better than 30 years it doesn't make any sense to pay the premium those go for.

I never understood 289 swaps, except for originality sake.

I wonder if they will replace the gas cylinder lifts on my 89 Lincoln ? Would they be too stiff for an aluminum hood ?

Good question on the stiffness. I have no clue about them bolting up but lean towards no. They are pretty complex around the fender, cowl area.
